Day 3 - OGX Coconut Range

I’d heard a lot about OGX haircare but I never really thought to give it a go, until I decided that I really needed to try something new for my hair. My hair is thick, curly, frizzy and just generally unruly and so I really need some haircare products that would tame my hair and make it feel healthier. I decided to try the coconut milk range because I’m a big fan of coconut scents and it looked like it would be very nourishing and moisturising.

The first thing to note is that these products smell INCREDIBLE, now I already loved coconut before I bought these products but these smell so so good, the oil especially smells wonderful and is very sweet and rich. If you like very sweet and nutty scents then I’d imagine you’d love this range. I believe OGX also have a coconut water range, but I felt that coconut milk would feel nicer on my dry hair.

So, onto the products. I decided to pick up three products from the coconut milk range, the shampoo and conditioner and the coconut oil hydrating mist. Like I said, my hair is very thick and curly and so finding hair products that actually work can be a challenge. My overall opinion of these products is that they are really good quality and do make your hair feel clean and soft. With my thick hair the shampoo and conditioner works well, although these may not work very well on thin, fine hair as these are very rich products that could possibly be too heavy for thinner hair. However, these could be worth giving a go even if you do have fine hair because they are of lovely quality. The shampoo and conditioner are not miracle products and won’t change your hair, but they smell great and really help to get your hair clean, they’re also pretty affordable too.

I also picked up the hydrating coconut oil, which can be spritzed onto wet hair to hydrate it and keep frizz at bay, or onto dry hair to tame fly aways. The oil is definitely the nicest smelling products of the range, it’s so sweet and coconutty (is that even a word?) and leaves your hair smelling great for a long time after using it. The oil is actually not ‘oily’ at all, it’s very dry and that’s definitely a great bonus if your hair becomes greasy easily, as sometimes it can be a risk using an oil. Of course, if you use too much of the oil (which is easy to do because it smells SO good) then you can make your hair feel somewhat greasy, but if you stick to using a small amount and brush it through your hair then you can really tame frizz, it makes my hair feel much sleeker and smoother.

I would love to try some more products from OGX, as they have a lot of products that I think I would really like. If you’re looking for some new hair products and you’re a fan of coconut then definitely consider having a look at this range.

You can buy these products from Boots and Superdrug and some other selected stores.
