Day 6 - Top 10 Under £10

For this next blog post I’m going to talk about my top 10 beauty products under £10. There are so many great beauty products available from Boots and Superdrug that are not only great quality but are also super affordable and would be perfect in anybody’s make up bag. So here are my top 10 products:

1. Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream – I really love this CC cream, and have been using it for most of this year, it provides a light coverage but is easily buildable and I find that it really helps to even out skin tone and make your complexion look healthier and more even without giving you a cakey look. The CC cream is very lightweight and is very easy to blend; it also smells really lovely and fresh. One issue with this product is, however, the shade range.  I am lucky because I have very fair skin, and so the shade Ivory is a pretty perfect match for me, however as far as I’m aware this product only comes in about four shades, and so if you have darker skin then this product probably won’t be great for you. However, this really is a lovely CC cream and it’s worth checking out, it provides you with a great base and is easy to use as well.

2. Next up is the Barry M Flawless Colour Correcting Primer. This is a relatively new discovery for me and I have to say that I do really like it. Some of the primers that I have used in the past have felt very thick and gel-like, and my foundation just didn’t sit quite right on top of them, but this primer is different. The primer smoothes out and gives you and even base on which to apply your foundation, and it also smells really nice. For the price I think this primer does the job and seems to make my foundation or CC cream last much longer, without feeling sticky or like it will clog my pores.

3. The next product is the Rimmel Stay Matte pressed powder, and although there isn’t really much to say about this product I do think that it is worth mentioning. Some powders can look very ‘powdery’ and don’t necessarily make your makeup last any longer. However, I find that this powder is very simple and sets your makeup without an issue, it doesn’t add any extra colour to your face and it’s very affordable to, and so if you’re looking for a simple setting powder then I’d recommend trying this one out.

4. Another one of my favourites is the Sleek blush in Rose Gold. This is honestly such a pretty blush, although it looks like a very bright pink it actually comes off as a very subtle rosy colour with hints of shimmer. The shimmer is not massively noticeable but does give your cheeks a nice glow. This blush is very pretty, and the packaging means that it’s also great for travel. These blushes are very affordable and come in a range of colours and I’d definitely recommend checking them out.

5. The Eyes Uncovered palettes by Collection have had a lot of hype surrounding them since they were released, and honestly I can see why. These eyeshadows are some of my most used (as you can tell from the fact that my palettes are slightly grubby and I’ve hit pan on some shadows) and they are so lovely both for simple eye looks and dramatic looks as well. These are very pigmented and buttery, and come in a range of neutral shades, in both matte and shimmer. There are three palettes available, the nude grey palette, the nude palette and the nude bronze palette and they are all great. These are also a great size as well, and they are definitely fantastic value for money.

 6. The Maybelline Colour tattoo in the shade On And On Bronze is one of my most used beauty products. These cream eyeshadows are fantastic as use either as a base or as an eyeshadow on their own, and when used as a base they really help your eyeshadow to last. As you can se
e I have used mine a LOT, and this colour is gorgeous, it’s a very neutral bronze shimmery shade which I think is very pretty. The formulation of these is also great, they are soft and very easy to blend, and I hope to get more shades in the future.

7. Another one of my most used products is the Makeup Revolution Flick and Thin liquid eyeliner. I love wearing winged liner and so this product is perfect for that. The thin end is great for creating a delicate cat flick, and the thicker end allows you to create a more dramatic look. These eyeliners last a pretty long time, are very pigmented and stay on the eyes well (although I do set my line with gel eyeliner as well) and best of all they are so affordable. Definitely a must buy for eyeliner lovers!

8. One of the first mascaras that I remember buying was this Natural Collection Waterguard mascara. These mascaras may not be the most amazing quality and may not give you absolutely incredible lashes, but for the price you cannot beat them for everyday use. They have a lot of different mascaras to choose from, but I really like this waterproof mascara because it stays on all day and enhances your natural lashes without looking clumpy. However, I will admit that I have naturally long eyelashes anyway and so simple mascaras like this work well for me, however if you have short eyelashes then you may want to try something that will give you more length, volume and definition. Although, this is £1.99, and for that price it’s worth a try anyway.

9. Now for even more eyeshadows, the W7 eyeshadow palettes are really great in terms of value for money and shade range. In my opinion they don't beat the quality of the Collection eyeshadows, but they do work well and last a pretty long time on the lid. These palettes are meant to be dupes for the Urban Decay Naked palettes, and although I have never tried the Urban Decay palettes the shade ranges do seem very similar, and so if you’re on a budget these may be worth buying. I have the In The Nude and In The Buff palettes, and although they are a little bit big to take if you’re travelling they are still a worthwhile purchase.

10. Finally I have the Revlon Colourburst crayons in the shades Sultry (a deep, but neutral pink) and Standout (a deep red). I really love lip crayons because I find them so easy to use and they’re great to just pop into your handbag for when you’re on the go. These balms are highly pigmented, and although they are matte they don’t dry out your lips. These also last on the lips for a really long time, and don’t leave you with a really awkward line of colour around your lips whilst the rest of the lipstick has disappeared. The only con for some people may be the scent, which is very minty and fresh; however I really love the scent of these. These are a real winner for me; they come in a range of formulations and colours and last a really long time.

So hopefully this post might have encouraged you to go out and try a few new beauty products, even if you are on a budget. Hope you’re all enjoying December so far!
